Opinion/Letter: Opinion shopping In Ogunquit?

Did the Ogunquit Select Board Chair go opinion shopping? You decide. Here are the facts.
At the April 13 Select Board meeting, the Town Attorney, when asked to clarify the definition of “majority” as it is used in the Ogunquit Charter stated “…when the Charter talks about a majority, it talks about a majority of those voting.” When asked, the Town Clerk affirmed, “Yes, a majority of the votes cast.”
Further into the meeting, Counsel reaffirmed her opinion: “You have to have more than the other person, but you also have to have at least 50%.” Again, the Town Clerk agreed.
