The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has vowed that it will claim all the 20 local governments in the July 24 elections in the state, saying the state is not secure under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The PDP said it is prepared and determined to give the ruling party a run for its money.
In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST in Abeokuta, the Ogun PDP Publicity Secretary, Akinloye Bankole, disclosed that efforts are on top gear to ensure the party wins all positions in the election.
According to him, the sale of nomination forms started on May 10, adding that it would be on till May 17.

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has given women the ample opportunity to participate in the forthcoming council polls by waiving payment for nomination forms for them, for chairmanship and councillorship positions.
The body has also amended the earlier released timetable, as the days for party primaries have been increased from five to 22, starting from May 5 to May 27, 2021.
The Chairman of the body, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, disclosed this during the official flag-off of political activities leading to the 2021 local government elections at the June 12 Cultural Centre.
According to the chairman, the political campaigns are now to end on July 22, 2021, as against the earlier slated time, while the election date remained July 24, 2021.

A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olumide Aderinokun, has asked Governor Dapo Abiodun not to turn the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) into a revenue generation agency.
DAILY POST reports that the Ogun electoral commission, saddled with the responsibility of conducting elections into the local governments of the state, has demanded N200,000 from chairmanship candidates.
OGSIEC, through its Chairman, said Tuesday that those eyeing the councillorship posts must pay a non-refundable deposit of N100,000 each, saying it was in accordance with the law of the commission.
But, the Akinruyiwa of Owu Kingdom, Aderinokun told Governor Dapo Abiodun “not to use the forthcoming local government elections in Ogun State as an avenue to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.”
• Waives payment for women candidates
The Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr Babatunde Osibodu, has promised that the Commission would conduct local government election that would remain a benchmark in the country.
Osibodu stated this in his address delivered during a stakeholders’ meeting on the 2021 local government elections, held at the Cinema Hall, June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
The chairman maintained that the Commission would conduct free, fair and credible elections.
He said: “We are guided by several enabling laws, paramount among which are Section 197,sub-section 1(b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which authorises the establishment of the State Independent Electoral Commissions across the country; and Section 14 of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission Law 2001, which empowers the Commission to organise, undertake and supervise all elections to Local Government Councils
