A combined team of emergency officials including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had stormed the site to shut down the leakage to prevent secondary incident.
Also on ground are officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), FRSC, Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR), Nigeria Gas Company and Ogun State Fire Service.
LASEMA Director-General, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu who mobilized his men to join the rescue efforts despite not falling within the agency’s jurisdiction, however confirmed that the leaking pipe has been shut successfully.
He said dampening of the affected perimeter is ongoing.
