Most recently the Democratic board of the port authority came out with a host of bogus reasons why they could not possibly allow a beach to open on public lands that they own - liability, not enough staff time, parking concerns, and a concern about the “quality” of people who might use the beach. It is true. I was there at the meeting. Who opposes a beach for children and families? Apparently, the Democratic Board of the OBPA. Even the Democratic Council slate is skeptical.
