Québec Solidaire is throwing a bone to pet owners in the midst of the province's ongoing housing crisis. The party introduced Quebec's first bill aimed at allowing animals in residential spaces in the National Assembly on May 25. If passed, the bill would make it illegal for rental properties to turn away tenants with four-legged roommates.
Inflation is still very much on the rise and Canadians are starting to resort to unfortunate measures in order to save money, including abandoning their pets. The Montreal SPCA took to its social media on April 15 to shed light on the recurring issue, saying that inflation is "destroying families."
The SPCA posted a heartbreaking message across its socials on April 8, sharing that a total of 30 dogs were saved from a fire that broke out in St-Bernard-de-Lacolle, seven of which have been taken in by the Montreal SPCA and will soon be up for adoption.

The animal welfare organization successfully found families for loads of animals last year including homes for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and other cute creatures.
