This is something that the safety watchdog plans to address in the coming years, beginning with ESC (electronic stability control).   Vehicles will need ESC to score high ratings from 2022 Separate star ratings for adult and child safety to be replaced by a single rating by 2026 More active safety tech will be added to testing protocols in the next 4-5 years “We will be introducing ESC requirements for high star ratings in India, probably in the second-half of 2022,” confirmed Alejandro Furas, vice president, Technological Affairs and Secretary General, Global NCAP, during the ‘Safer Mobility Conclave’ organised by our sister publication Autocar Professional.
