PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A preliminary investigation by the Pittsfield Police Department has found the officers involved in the death of Miguel Estrella to have been in compliance.
A preliminary report came in Wednesday on a Pittsfield police shooting that killed a man last month. The report, by the Force Investigation Team, finds there was a perceived imminent deadly threat, and the shooting was justified.
According to the findings, Officer Nicholas Sondrini, whose name has been withheld until the issuance of this report, followed “use of force guidelines.”
