SAN DIEGO
The 53-year-old driver of a San Diego Gas & Electric van was badly injured Tuesday morning when the vehicle crashed into the back end of a school bus stopped at a red light in Barrio Logan, authorities said.
The crash happened about 8:25 a.m. on South 28th Street and Boston Avenue, Officer Scott Lockwood said.

San Diego police initially reported that the driver had died at the scene. However they later said he survived and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
SAN DIEGO
An attempt by a San Diego police officer to pull over a speeding vehicle in the Stockton neighborhood early Tuesday sparked a short pursuit that ended with a crash into the police car, according to authorities.
No one was injured in the crash, on Interstate 15 near Market Street, according to California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident logs.
Shortly after 12:50 am., an officer tried to pull over the vehicle on 32nd Street just north of Market Street, San Diego police Officer Scott Lockwood said.
The vehicle drove off and jumped onto the nearby freeway, but the driver lost control and collided with the pursuing police car, Lockwood said. The police car sustained moderate damage, he said.
