Lawmakers in Nassau County are asking Governor Cuomo for permission to hold Memorial Day parades.
“The brave men and women who lost their lives in service to our nation deserve to be recognized for their sacrifice,” Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello wrote on Facebook.
Capacity limits are being lifted in New York on May 19th. However, permits still aren’t being issued for parades.
“If we can safely attend a baseball game, or visit a museum or beach, we should be able to gather to honor those who have laid down their lives for our country,” Nicolello wrote.
