MANSFIELD - A local man who claimed police smashed his face into a wall when he was arrested last month has been arrested for allegedly punching a Mansfield police officer during the arrest.
Darius Leflore, 48, contacted the News Journal alleging Mansfield police used excessive force after he fled on foot from an officer at a Dollar General store after police were called on a report of theft.
Leflore was found hiding in a bathtub in a residence on Willow Street after fleeing from the store on March 31. He claims he was injured when the police used excessive force, causing injuries that required his jaw to be wired shut and nerve damage to his left arm.
