Man accused of attempting to murder officer arrested January 08 2021
The suspect had previously been arrested but escaped custody after being accused of the attack on a Portland officer.
The attempted murder suspect who escaped from Portland Police Bureau s Central Precinct on Saturday night has been captured and taken into custody.
Early Friday morning, David Dahlen, 24, was spotted by the United States Marshal s Fugitive Task Force inside a car at Lents Park on Southeast 92nd Avenue. The U.S. Marshals notified Portland police.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on Jan. 8, authorities attempted to block the vehicle Dahlen was in. Despite their efforts, the driver of the vehicle who was not Dahlen was able to maneuver out of their reach.
A manhunt was underway in Portland, Ore., on Saturday night after a suspect accused of ramming into a police officer with a stolen truck on Christmas Eve somehow escaped from a holding cell at the city’s Central Precinct, according to a report.

A man accused of trying to kill a Portland police officer last month escaped police custody after a holding room door didn t fully latch when it was closed, according to authorities.
David Dahlen, 24, escaped custody at Portland Police Bureau s Central Precinct on Saturday night and is still at large after he allegedly rammed a police officer s patrol car with a stolen pickup truck on Christmas Eve in Southeast Portland. The officer in the car, Officer Jennifer Pierce, is still recovering from injuries.

A Portland, Oregon, man accused of hitting a police officer with a pickup truck on Christmas Eve escaped from his holding cell at the Portland Police Bureau on Saturday, police said.
David Dahlen, 24, allegedly struck Officer Jennifer Pierce with a stolen pickup truck and fled the scene before ditching the vehicle several miles away, KGW reported.
The pickup had reportedly been stolen from a Southeast Portland auto shop the Monday before the incident. KOIN reported that the stolen pickup rammed into the driver’s side of a marked squad car and pushed it forward before driving out of the gas station.
