Jabari Edwards, 28, faces counts of attempted murder in connection with a June 1 shooting that left Chicago Police Officer Fernanda Ballesteros seriously wounded.
Jabari Edwards, 28, was charged with two counts of attempted murder of a police officer in connection with the incident on Wednesday, June 1, police Supt. David Brown announced.
The attorney noted that Jermone Halsey who has a FOID card and a concealed carry license told Chicago police at the hospital afterward that he feared for his safety when the officers boxed him in an alley. To Halsey, it was “just an SUV of three people … following him into an alley, getting out of their car with weapons drawn.”
