You will never be forgotten : Fellow officers, friends remember fallen Chandler officer in memorial service
A memorial service was held for Chandler officer Christopher Farrar at Compass Christian Church on May 8.
Draped in a flag, with sounds of bagpipes bouncing off the walls of Compass Christian Church, the memorial began. Chris, like many of these men and women here today in uniform, was willing to do a job knowing very well the inordinate amount of challenges and risks associated with being a police officer in this country today, said Sean Duggan, chief of the Chandler Police Department.
Saturday morning was a chance for all to say goodbye inside Compass Christian Church to an officer littered in superlatives.

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Family, friends, and members of the community gathered on May 7 to honor a fallen Chandler Police officer.
Christopher Farrar was killed while on duty by a suspect driving a stolen car during a pursuit that involved multiple law enforcement agencies. Gilbert Police officials say the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Altland, is being accused of murder, aggravated assault, and auto theft.

CHANDLER, AZ â A funeral service was held Saturday for a Chandler police officer who was hit and killed by a suspect in a stolen car last week.

Officials say his numerous commendations over the years included the Medal of Honor in 2004, the Community Service Award in 2009 and four Lifesaving Awards.
Memorial events began Friday afternoon with a procession to Compass Christian Church around 1 p.m.

CHANDLER, Ariz. A public viewing and memorial service will be held later this week for Christopher Farrar, a Chandler police officer recently killed in the line of duty.
The public viewing will be held on Friday at Compass Christian Church in Chandler, the Chandler Police Department said in a press release. The viewing will be open to the public from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m.

Gilbert officer recovering after getting hit by car during pursuit
GILBERT, Ariz. - A Gilbert Police officer continues to recover after he was severely injured last week during a
violent pursuit that resulted in the death of a Chandler police officer.
Officer Rico Aranda, 27, sustained a serious head injury after he was hit by a suspect driving a stolen car on April 29.
Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said the pursuit began when a deputy tried to pull over a speeding vehicle and reported he d been shot at.
