GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â As with most things during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ash Wednesday will look different this year.
According to the Diocese of Grand Rapids, parishioners will remain in their seats and at once, the presiding minister will call on them all to repent to reduce the transmission of respiratory droplets.
Ordinarily, priests ask each recipient to âRepent and believe in the Gospelâ or âRemember that you are dust and to dust you shall returnâ.
The Vatican issued guidance about Ash Wednesday last month.
