The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force have arrested a man wanted for Murder in Montgomery. Pierre Woods, 27, is now in police custody.
Woods faces Murder charges for the death of 27-year-old Joshua Thompson. Police say they found Thompson’s body on November 5, 2020 near U.S. Highway 31 at the Alabama River bridge. Police determined he died from a gunshot wound.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Woods on Tuesday, January 19. Woods was taken into custody at a home in the 2700 block of Massachusetts Avenue without incident.
Montgomery murder suspect captured in Florida

A man sought in deadly 2020 Montgomery shooting was captured in Florida.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division and U.S. Marshals arrested 27-year-old Pierre Tremore Woods on Tuesday, sheriff’s officials posted on Facebook. The fugitive was taken into custody at a home in the 2700 block of Massachusetts Avenue without incident.
Montgomery and Prattville police, Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies and fire medics were dispatched at 2:52 p.m. that day to the area of Highway 31 at River Bridge after receiving a report of a body found. The body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy, which revealed the victim had been shot.
