A woman was arrested Tuesday in the death of Harris County Sheriff s Office Sgt. Bruce Watson, police said.
Floribeth Sandoval-Benjume was charged with manslaughter in Brazoria County. She was behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck Watson Jan. 2 in the intersection of Shadow Creek Parkway and Kingsley Drive, authorities said.
Watson, a 20-year veteran of the county, died from his injuries. At the time, he was headed home from serving as a funeral escort in the Pearland area.
