The Police Closed in on the suspect, 26yearold mason lira, this afternoon. They opened fire on several off officers that arrived at the scene, but it all came to an end when the suspect tried to run from a river bed to highway 101. He was shot and killed by police. The 3 officers injured are hospitalized with nonlifethreatening injuries. Heres what we know about the suspect. Authorities say hes a homeless man from the monterey area.
