Govt set for 44,000 civil servants hiring
THE government is set to employ 44,096 civil servants in the 2021/2022 financial year, the National Assembly heard yesterday.

About 10,297 employees will go to the education sector, while health takes up 11,215 new staff, agriculture (1,383), livestock, (1,250), fisheries (733), the police force (1,782), prisons (843), fire and rescue (512) and 1,240 others will be deployed to hospitals run by faith-based organizations.
Mohamed Mchengerwa, the Minister of State in the President s Office (Public Service and Good Governance) said this when tabling estimates for the coming financial year.
