San Francisco launched its Guaranteed Income For Transgender People (GIFT) program Tuesday, which will give $1,200 per month to 55 San Francisco residents who earn less than $600 monthly an identify as transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming or intersex, according to the program’s website.
Six years after it called for the creation of a plan to preserve San Francisco’s LGBTQ cultural heritage, the Board of Supervisors is set to hold its first hearing on the completed document.
