Team against Corruption makes progress in its mission 3 published : 26 Apr 2021 at 08:00 3 “STRONG PROJECT’S FIELDWORKS” According to Section 63 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 (2017), the Thai government is obliged to raise awareness and educate people on the threats that come with corruption and malfeasance. The government must also lay down effective and sufficient measures to prevent and eliminate those malpractices, as well as create a zero-tolerance-toward-corruption culture with a mechanism enabling the public to unite against corruption in all parts of society. Since 2018, the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (ONACC), through the Bureau of Anti-Corruption Enhancement and Integrated Participation, has been implementing the STRONG project against corruption (aka STRONG), with the main purpose to foster a community immune to corruption.

The first delay took place in 2018 when senators voted against the proposed candidates, recruited in line with the 2017 NBTC law.

The auctioned assets are properties the department received from the Anti-Money Laundering Office and the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, said Yuttana Yimgarund, director-general of the department. There are 156 lawfully seized assets, comprising of land, land and buildings, buildings constructed on land plots and apartments and condominiums, said Mr Yuttana. The online auction process will be launched this month. The first-round auction will be launched around the clock for seven days via https://auction.treasury.go.th
