I think whats good to look at is how long positions stay vacant, right now in the city, we have kind of an assessor post that has been vacant i believe since early december and now were approaching march, thats three months, that position not being filled and weve had all the 800 thousand people, people that are probably eligible to serve are probably 250 thousand people in San Francisco and not one of them has been chosen yet to replace either be in the Assessors Office or to replace the district 4 supervisor, thats taking a lot time and hopefully well have a a decision made soon, im curious other places around california, is there a time frame or a certain length of time they should have that decision made by. Senate bill 2 19 sponsored by leland yee extends the double fine zones that were established in 2008 to make them permanent. And since the establishment of the double fine zone, deadly accidents have dropped by about 75 along these busy routes. This bill is also supported by the California Alliance of retired americans because they, seniors and people with disabilities know that this will help protect seniors and their families. There is so much more work we can do in San Francisco, but the board of supervisors i believe should voice its strong support for important legislation like this to support pedestrian safety. Also, especially given supervisor kims comments about the tragic death of a child and the families in treasure island, im working also on a number of Richmond District fires and i know that others from other supervisors have fires in their district. I guess to me a San Francisco executive director of a major agency like the mta needs to have an incredible definite versus knowledge of neighborhoods. Those are like subject things that i would look for if theres any way to write in how you manage conflict especially b different versus cultural groups within our cities and i think thats really important.
