Good afternoon, president brandon. Im the Deputy Director for planning and environment. Happy to be here today to provide a report on where we are with the draft waterfront plan which was published in june. The work that weve withi been g over the summer. I wanted to give you a report on the feedback and the outreach efforts and to provide this public hearing opportunity, as well, for further Public Comments to come forth. We have really sought to solicit comments by the end of settlement so that we can take stock of whether the draft plan is hitting the points that people expected after the long process lead by the Waterfront Plan Working Group and to make any further refinements and, of course, corrections, if necessary, before we start the Environmental Review process. So to that end, the staff report lists more details, but this is the summary of the meetings that have occurred over the last couple of months, continuing through the end of the month, as far as scheduled. The patience and teamwork that went into this and youve heard me say this many times, i think the giants have shown the city what a good Corporate Citizen can be an engage in the community and you have brought the community along with you, right . And you can feel the investment that youre putting back. I want to go back to what commission wohoo said about your commitment and it shows by what youre doing. Like the Affordable Housing and things like that. And i know its been going back and forth and i like it. And also the different mayors. Mayors that have seen this, whether gavin, the late ed lee. Its a transition about people and i like the fact that the people in sanfrancisco, we never use the word i and me but use the word we and us and woke through it. And then the back and forth. Im just moved by this project and want to see it get done right. This project, for future generations, you know, lyin in the city, the average age is 27 years old. The Younger Generation and generations t
Carmichael schools. I urge you all to have this go through. Our process has been working. Our Community Voices have been heard so i urge you to do the right thing and push it forward. Thank you. Next speaker, please. Good afternoon, commissioners, i am Heather Phillips on the eastern neighborhood cac. I am part of Soma Community for the last 16 years, and i am just so excited to see the work between the community, Supervisors Office and planning staff to come together to look at what it takes to really direct these funds well to make sure there is Community Voice and appropriate accountability, and i really think the plan in front of you really looks at all of those factors and pushes forward a cac that is going to be representative of the community, going to make sure there is Community Voice in the Infrastructure Improvements in our district. We hope that you will move in forward today. Thank you. Next speaker, please. Good afternoon, Planning Commissioners. I am with you nighted pla
Hi, im the Community Housing Public Policy and i work with former Homeless People in support of. We provide a portal housing and help those residents residents achieve selfsufficiency. These update fees would generate 500 million towards 2,000 new units in ten years. 10 of those funds would go to the acquisition and preservation of existing Affordable Housing and 30 would go to building new Supportive Housing. Homeless people who are no longer needing supportive intervention also need next step housing that is deeply affordable to thrive once stabilized on the recovery path from homeless trauma. These kinds of fees have never been the determining factor in development. If we were truly to meet the Affordable Housing needs resulting from the Office Development, the cities own nexis study says we should be charging 193 per square foot. I think we are talking about 66 here, that is not enough. This is the fee Developers Pay to cover the fair share of housing the workers. From my perspecti
This is a proposed development. As you ca can see on this side,n 015, after you proposed the dne, they came out with a proposal for 124 million with a groundlevel basement. This is the slide that is before you, you can see that the area has been reduced to 127,000 square feet and a communitybased basement level. Why are we doing this project . Some of the this is listed on the slide. It includes the sustainability as indicated on this slide. The key to transaction document that you would be approving is what we call the Lease Development and dispostion agreement. The lgda is the agreement and it is going to be for a period of one year and will list all of the conditions of what you need to complete before the port will allow the lease to be recorded. During the period, it will be paying us for staff time. And they will have transaction costs that have will be moving the project forward. They will use this for financing the project and then keeping more time to close escrow because, you
