A 35-year-old US police officer was found dead at the bottom of a river on Thursday, hours after he made his first ever arrest. The bodies of Robert John Leonard, a newly-appointed deputy sheriff in Tennessee, and the woman he arrested were found.
The bodies of a deputy and a woman he had recently arrested were found in the Tennessee River late last week, according to the local district attorney.
According to an obituary from the Decatur Funeral Home and Cremation Services, the funeral service will be held in the Meigs County High School gym on Monday.
