When the Sheriff s Office Animal Cruelty Task Force and Central District Criminal Investigations Division responded to the Edison Apartments, investigators found the dog in a bathroom that was covered with urine and feces.
The animal, named Queen, was dehydrated, malnourished, and suffering from chemical burns on her paws from prolonged exposure to urine, an arrest report noted.
A Sheriff s Office report said the dog had been left alone in the small space for a week.
Haugabrook was released Monday on $5,000 bond and will be arraigned June 14.
Queen is recovering at Lee County Domestic Animal Services.
