A Delaware state senator was arrested after an altercation with a woman in a north Wilmington restaurant.
State Police identified the man asDarius J. Brown, 39 of Wilmington. Brown represents a district in Wilmington.
On Sunday at 6:20 p.m., troopers were called to the Taverna Rustic Italian Restaurant on Silverside Road.
When the troopers arrived, they were told by a 44-year-old woman that she had been punched in the side of the face by Brown after the two argued over a social media post.
According to troopers, Brown rose from the booth and threw a glass of water, which broke. Brown exited the restaurant before troopers arrived.

Police say troopers were called to the Taverna Rustic Italian Restaurant in Wilmington for a report of a domestic altercation Sunday. Upon arriving at the restaurant, troopers were contacted by a 44-year-old female victim who said she had been punched in the side of the face by Senator Brown after the two began arguing over a social media post.
