A man arrested by Gardaí investigating the alleged discharge of a firearm on Mill Street in Dundalk has been released without charge.
The man in his 30s was detained yesterday afternoon and held for questioning at Dundalk Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act.
A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The investigation was launched after a video was shared on social media on Friday night of a pump action shotgun being fired from an upstairs window onto a footpath.
