Gardai Arrest Two Men Over Regency Hotel Shooting In Dublin Share this article Gardai have arrested two men in relation to the Regency Hotel shooting in Dublin five years ago. David Byrne, a member of the Kinahan cartel, was shot dead during the attack at the hotel in February 2016. The shooting occurred at a weigh-in for a boxing event in the capital which was bring promoted by Daniel Kinahan. Gardai investigating the shooting have arrested a 50-year-old man and another man, aged 60. Both men are set to appear before the Special Criminal Court this evening. In a statement, Gardaí say Gardai at Ballymun investigating the fatal shooting at the Regency Hotel on 5th February 2016 have today arrested two males (aged 50 and 60) on foot of a warrants issued by the Special Criminal Court pursuant to Section 47 of the Offence Against the State Act 1939/1998.
