We re finally into March and for college basketball fans it is the month we most associate with the annual NCAA men s basketball tournament, also commonly known as March Madness .
The ACC is the premiere college basketball conference in the NCAA Tournament since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985. In that span, the Duke Blue Devils have won five national championships, the North Carolina Tar Heels have won four, and the Syracuse Orange, Louisville Cardinals, and Virginia Cavaliers have each won one, with Virginia the most recent national champion in 2019 since of course last year the NCAA Tournament was canceled.
