that i m best positioned to beat donald trump. that was a major part of the first ad that arlette mentioned that the biden campaign put out. i think that they are feeling some pressure to go beyond that. to say what would you do, what is your forward-looking vision for the country. not just i want to defeat donald trump next november and that s the end of it. what would you do if you won, what would you do in office? and part of biden s challenge is to both continue to hammer this electability argument, but also give people something that is aspirational, that gives them a real sense that they would be voting for something, not just against donald trump. well, speaking against donald trump, there s one line that stood out to me here. he says when i see the president try to tear it down, speaking of obamacare, and others propose to replace it and start over, that is personal to me. now, there is this new monmouth poll, molly, that found that 58% of democrats want the party to nominate
intentionally. last year 52 cases of parents or guardians leaving children in hot cars who died from heat stroke and just like this case, prosecutors across the country find themselves forced to decide whether to charge a grieving parent or guardian with a crime or not charge them at all. prosecutors decide they want to move forward with felony charges they will need a grand jury indictment likely being discussed here today. they could decide to lessen the charges or drop them entirely. if he gets convicted on all the charges he currently faces he could get up to 40 years in prison. we ll have more as the day develops here. bill: tough story in bronx, new york. this morning i left my community of baltimore a drug-infested area where a lot of the drugs that we re talking about today have already taken the lives of so many children. the same children that i
talking about health care in a way that seems realistic to people. going after pharmaceutical companies, one thing i really noticed tonight, nobody mentioned pre-existing conditions. that was the number one issue in 2018 when somebody said, 100 million people with pre-existing conditions, was vice president biden. but that was the number one issue. all those seats we won in those suburban areas, it was about protection for pre-existing conditions. that s what obamacare gave this country. and joe biden probably needs to turn up the heat a little bit on being the protector and the defender of obamacare, but adding that public option. that s where we re going to get to the sweep spot. when you say the party has to do both things, i mean, it does have to try to appeal to those obama/trump voters. but it really has to get the base out. i mean, it has to no question.
with insurance executives and locking up executives. so no matter who wins you will have a candidate on the democratic for the democrats who will be anti-business, anti-profits and in a way that will really, i think, could be detrimental to the economy. bill: how far barack obama has fallen out of favor. how did that happen? sometimes biden got confused. every now and then he said when he is good for you and not. bill: booker called him out on it. it is interesting because obamacare, the indictment of obamacare is coming from the democratic party, right? essentially even if you have a joe biden he is saying he could fix it or make it better. bottom line the indictment of obamacare didn t do what it promised to do. sandra: you heard rahm emanuel talking about that.
when people question that there is no formula for this, that you are going to find money in magical ways is not realistic thinking, how do you respond to that? status quo is not enough. so we have to be open to challenging status quo so everyone has access to health care and price is not the barrier. we have to agree that what s happening right now is not affordable to many, many working families. reporter: joe biden says that this is what you are suggesting, an elimination of obamacare spp that accurate? it s absolutely not. listen. i will put my record up against anybody as having been a fighter for the maintenance and the sustainability of obamacare. as attorney general, i m sure on
