Tonight, they prepare to go before congress and the country. No matter what happens this moment will change our nations politics. Later on, roz roderosenstein. Was he being sarcastic. First, negotiation after negotiation. Shifting the Judiciary Committee on thursday at 10 00 a. M. I, of course, will be there too. Some of the details about this hearing have been worked out. The hearing will be open and dr. Ford will testify first. Democratic senators will ask questions. But important factors are so far unresolved. Like how much time will be allowed for those questions. And then theres the matter of whether republican senators themselves or perhaps their staffers or an outside counsel will do the questioning. This is important in part because all the republicans on the committee are men. At the same time, judge kavanaugh
During its first in-person business awards luncheon since 2020, the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday named Opportunity Bank of Montana as business of the year.
soors about being a bipartisan president. this always seemed a little like theater to me that this was likely not to yield anything and it was just kind of an obligatory overture. do you think it s shaping up to look like that? the key question is what do the moderate democrats who required this bipartisan effort, what are they thinking? yeah. and i asked senator joe manchin yesterday very briefly as he was walking on to the floor, are you ready to give up on bipartisanship? are you ready to move forward? it s always a good day to do bipartisanship which is a very manchin thing to say and i talked to senator john tester, moderate democrat from the state of montana who told me, look, i will give this more time. i m not the leader, so i don t make that call, but i would give this a little bit more time. so that soft deadline coming up this weekend, that might slide a couple weeks if i had to make my prediction. you re a tester, you have to say you want more time for bipartisans
reached a deal with turkey yesterday pausing the offensive for five days and giving the kurds a chance to withdrawal and get out of the way. if i was commander in chief, we never would have got into this administration. the kurds, and bigger than the kurds, that they have think that america s word means something. isis.we fought side by side with all on the president s whim, he didn t speak with anyone other than erogan, we re in so much more trouble. let s talk about the people in the state of montana who voted for the president that say they are corrupt.
friday morning she goes, as does in effect judge thomas, on trial. who is telling the truth? i don t think anyone wants to harm miss hill. there are a lot of inconsistencies in her statement, in her various statements and a lot of things that could be played out. but i think most of us feel sorry for her. i think she s been badly used. joining me now is former democratic senator max baucus of montana. he served in the senate during the confirmation of justice clarence thomas. senator baucus, great to see you again. thanks for being on the show tonight. i think i want to start. you bet. by asking you what do you remember about that time? what was it like to be in the halls of the senate? what were the conversations like? democrats actually controlled the chamber at the time and frankly, what ultimately happened didn t really age very well. no, it didn t. it was very awkward, obviously, and just very difficult.
