How JAN, Union Bank sustain leadership, empowerment programmes for Nigerian girls

Mastercard partners JA Nigeria to empower digital entrepreneurs -

ECONOMY Mastercard has partnered with Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) to help bridge the digital and financial literacy gap amongst school students and young adults in Nigeria. Through a series of programs, the students will be equipped with essential skills to prepare them for future success as digital entrepreneurs. The partnership forms part of Mastercard’s global commitments to connect 25 million women entrepreneurs to the digital economy, reach 50 million small businesses and financially include one billion people in the next five years. Leveraging the expertise of Mastercard employee volunteers, the partnership with JAN will inspire young adults across Nigeria through three unique activations which are Mastercard Girls4Tech Program; Mentoring participants of the JA Company Program; and Digital Payments Literacy Webinar.

Winners emerge in Jnr Achievement company competition -

ECONOMY Winners have emerged in the  National Company of the Year Competition (NCOY) organised by the Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN). New Phase, Brookstone Secondary School, Rivers State, emerged the overall winner while Amazing Amazons, Government Girls Secondary School, Abaji, Abuja, emerged first runner up, and Jikoru, Alvana Secondary School, Owerri, Imo State became the second runner up. The event which was be held virtually featured six student companies that were winners from the Virtual Company of the Year (VCOY) competition, which competed for the National Company of the Year Award sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria Limited. The winners will represent Nigeria against fellow JA Africa companies for the title of JA Africa Company of the Year in 2021.
