A 28-year-old welder, Opeyemi Adeola Ganiyu, who allegedly sent his mother-in-law, Madam Abosede Oyewole to early grave by fatally stabbing her, has spoken on why he did it.
Ganiyu, residing in Atan Ota, in Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was arrested on Monday, after the death of the mother-in-law.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, had disclosed that one Odunayo Mathew told the police that Ganiyu killed his mother-in-law for telling him to stop beating her daughter and inflicting injuries on her.
The complainant also informed the police that the suspect was in the habit of beating his wife over minor arguments.

A 28-old-man, Opeyemi Adeola Ganiyu, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for killing his mother-in-law, Abosede Oyewole.
The suspect was arrested on May 3, 2021.
Ganiyu was arrested following a report made at Atan Ota Divisional Police Headquarters by one Odunayo Mathew, who reported that the suspect, who is married to the daughter of the deceased, is fond of beating his wife at the slightest provocation.
According to the spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on the fateful day, the suspect, as usual, had beaten up his wife and inflicted injuries on her, and that is the reason why the deceased went to meet him in order to warn him to desist from beating her daughter.
SaharaReporters learnt that Ganiyu beat up Oyewole and stabbed her in the belly for mediating in a quarrel between him and his wife, whom he had beaten up several times.

A 28-year-old man, Opeyemi Adeola Ganiyu, is cooling his heels in a police cell for reportedly stabbing his mother-in-law, Abosede Oyewole, to death in Ogun.
The suspect was arrested Monday following a report made at Atan Ota divisional headquarters by one Odunayo Mathew.
Mathew had reported that the suspect, who was fond of beating his wife on any slight provocation, did so again on Monday, inflicting injuries on her body.
It was gathered that the slain mother-in-law had visited her daughter’s husband to warn him against beating his wife.
