Fayemi flags off construction of 1,000 rural roads in Ekiti

In a bid to expand the economic base of Ekiti State through increased rural access and communication, Governor Kayode Fayemi on Thursday flagged off the construction of 1,000 kilometres of rural roads in the state
Dr Fayemi who described the project as another dividend of democracy said it was part of the fulfilment of promises he made to the people of the state during the electioneering campaign for the 2018 governorship election.
Represented by the Deputy Governor Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, the Governor explained that the roads, when constructed, would stimulate the grassroots economy, provide access to markets for farm produce and prevent post-harvest losses incurred by farmers.

A suspect, Ayo Lawal, who is now in the custody of the Ekiti State Police Command, has narrated how he killed a commercial motorcyclist because he needed to buy seed yams for the next planting season.
Mr Lawal, in collaboration with three other persons – Jimoh Ojo, Sule Abdullahi and another now at large, in Odo Oro, Ikole Local Government Area of the state, allegedly murdered the motorcyclist, who was identified as Isaac, in a farm.
The late Isaac was said to have conveyed the suspects from Ikole to a farmstead at Odo Oro Ekiti, where he was murdered and his body was buried in a shallow grave in a farm belonging to Ayo Lawal.
A murder suspect, Ayo Lawal, who killed a motorcyclist in Ekiti State has revealed he committed the nefarious crime to raise money to purchase yam tubers for the 2020l2021 planting season.
The offence was committed at Odo Oro, Ikole Local Government Area of the state, when Lawal in the company of one Jimoh Ojo, Sule Abdullahi and one person named Wonder, killed the motorcyclist, Isaac inside the farm.
Isaac was said to have conveyed the suspects from Ikole to a farmstead at Odo Oro Ekiti, where he was murdered and the body buried in a shallow grave in a farm belonging to Ayo Lawal.
