Voting started at 7 am in Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri parliamentary constituencies along with 42 assembly segments within the jurisdiction of these Lok Sabha seats.
The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said a total of 37 candidates are in the fray for the Nabarangpur, Berhampur, Koraput and Kalahandi Lok Sabha constituencies, of which 17 candidates have declared their assets worth more than Rs 1 crore.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Santrupt Misra, the BJD candidate from Cuttack, is the wealthiest candidate in the ongoing Odisha Lok Sabha elections, declaring assets worth Rs 461 crore. This includes movable assets of Rs 408 crore and immovable assets of Rs 53 crore. His income tax returns indicate earnings of Rs 76.23 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 66.21 crore in 2022-23. Dilip Ray, BJP nominee for Rourkela assembly seat, owns assets valued at around Rs 300 crore. Sanatan Mahakud, BJD candidate from Champua assembly seat, declared assets worth nearly Rs 152 crore.
