MSU Theatre closes out theatrical season with Moon Over Buffalo

Credit Morehead State University Morehead State University s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance will close out its 2020-21 theatrical season with the production of Ken Ludwig s Moon Over Buffalo. MSU Theatre will present the show virtually. A recording of the performance is available online from Thursday through Sunday, April 8-11, and Thursday through Sunday, April 15-18.  Moon Over Buffalo revolves around a couple of Broadway stars, George Hay (Everett Quiggins, junior music education major of Louisville) and Charlotte Hay (Logan Wilkerson, freshman theatre education major from Orange Park, Florida), taking their rundown touring company to Buffalo, New York, in the summer of 1953. With the legendary Frank Capra heading to town on a talent-scouting mission looking to hire the couple for his swashbuckling “Scarlet Pimpernel” epic. Biggs recognized for theatre education

Credit Morehead State University Octavia Biggs (87), director of Morehead State s Little Theatre Company, has been awarded the Prize for Innovative Teaching by the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF).   The award was presented during KCACTF Region IV Virtual Conference, held Feb. 4-7. The award is given to a faculty member in the region who has demonstrated excellence in teaching innovation with regard to student success in the area of pedagogy and theatre arts. Biggs was nominated by a group of current and former students and work-studies, and she was not aware she had been nominated until she learned she had won the award.
