BOLTON S arts and culture scene has been thrown a lifeline with a funding boost of nearly half-a-million pounds. The Octagon Theatre and Bolton Council has been awarded cash from the government s Culture Recovery Fund to support their reopening out of lockdown. Jango the Tuojiangosaurus it the dinosaurs new home suspended over Bolton Museum The Octagon, received £148,500 and Bolton Council was given £332,950 to support its library and museum service and Bolton Music Service. This is the second time the Octagon has received funding from this pot, which it says has helped ensure its survival. This latest round of funding has been awarded specifically to sustain arts and cultural organisations between the April – June period whilst they reopen in line with the Government’s roadmap.
