File photo June 09, 2021 MORE vaccines are expected to arrive in Davao Region this month, according to an official from the Davao City Health Office (CHO).
CHO Acting Head Dr. Ashley Lopez said on Wednesday, June 9, that the region is expected to receive more than 200,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Thursday, June 10.
He said this is the highest allocated Pfizer vaccine from the National Government for a local government unit.
The official said he will personally be present during the arrival of the vaccines.
In a press release, the Department of Health-Davao Region (DOH-Davao) confirmed the arrival of the Pfizer vaccines.

May 19, 2021 THE number of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases recorded in the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Iloilo has significantly increased over the last seven days, said Octa Research Group Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
Octa’s monitoring report released May 19 showed Cagayan de Oro City posting 94 new cases, which is 52 percent higher than the cases reported in the previous week.
Davao City had 61 additional cases, or a 36 percent increase from previous week, while Iloilo City recorded a 99 percent increase with 58 new infections.
Zamboanga City, meanwhile, remained to be the local government unit (LGU) outside the National Capital Region (NCR) with the highest number of new cases, with 158. But it only grew by four percent compared to last week’s new cases, said Octa.

+ May 17, 2021 THE hospitalization utilization rate in Metro Manila has gone down after a spike in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the country’s capital, said the Department of Health (DOH) Monday, May 17.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the National Capital Region’s (NCR) healthcare utilization rate, which refers to the occupancy of intensive care units (ICU), isolation, and ward beds particularly for Covid-19 cases, has gone down to 48 percent.
