Dear Editor: I wish to say thank you and congratulate the Town of Boothbay on its excellent work done to repair Shore Road in East Boothbay. The last two storms caused unbelievable damage to the road. I drove up to inspect my property last Thursday.
Summer has finally arrived! We are currently experiencing a great stretch of weather; let’s hope it continues as we welcome our August vacationers. Once again it was a very busy week here at the Point. Many thanks to Owen Dawson on his incredible.

The area has certainly had its share of storms in the past couple of weeks that knocked down trees, power lines and Marden’s flagpole. Other than the flagpole there was no other substantial damage reported thankfully. Unfortunately we are expected to have a large storm this week; winter has certainly arrived!
I find it extremely difficult to report heartbreaking news at any time of year but especially the holiday season. Sadly we lost another beloved member of our community. Pat Waldman passed away on Dec. 1 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Like many of you I have lots of happy memories of Pat through the years. Pat was kind, thoughtful, cheerful, generous and certainly multi-talented in so many areas. Some of my first recollections of Pat were of her playing a competitive game of tennis with friends or family and many an afternoon swimming at the Point.
