Healthy Ocean is Important to Irish Citizens, Ireland’s Ocean Citizen Survey Finds 6th May 2021 More than 1,000 people across the island of Ireland completed the Ocean Citizen Survey in 2020 Credit: Bob Bateman The Irish public believes more action needs to be taken to improve the health of the ocean, according to results from Ireland’s first Ocean Citizen Survey. More than 1,000 people across the island of Ireland completed the Ocean Citizen Survey in 2020 and shared their views on current marine issues and priorities for the protection of the marine environment. The online survey was developed by the Marine Institute and the European Commission to encourage the people of Ireland to contribute to the EU Mission for Healthy Oceans, Seas, Coastal and Inland Waters.
