PARADISE, Calif. - Destroyed or damaged homes by the Camp Fire in Paradise may be eligible for a grant of up to $200,000, according to the ReCoverCA.
Households with low-to-moderate-income will receive priority for the grant.
ReCoverCA is launching a new housing program for survivors who are rebuilding in the Camp Fire burn scar.
The California Department of Housing and Community Development announced the Disaster Housing Assistance Survey has opened for survivors of the 2018 wildfire disasters.
Jefferson Parish opens applications for home improvement program
Jefferson Parish has opened applications for its 2021 Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program which helps homeowners whose primary residence has fallen into disrepair.
The program provides income-eligible homeowners with a forgivable loan to make necessary home repairs, a news release said. Properties are rehabilitated so that they are safe and sanitary, meet current building codes and/or become barrier-free for elderly or disabled persons.
The application deadline is April 30 at 4 p.m.
This program will only cover owner-occupied, single-family homes, the release said. Homes must be structurally sound and suitable for rehabilitation under the time and monetary constraints of the program. At the end of the application period, a lottery will be held to determine who will receive assistance.
