Ocala Police Department bids farewell to 2 trailblazing leaders
Ocala Police Department Majs. Robin Ford and Tara Woods have some of the same qualities.
Both are viewed by colleagues as mother figures and as good listeners who offer advice, are always there for moral support, and can be counted on if someone needs help.
Despite their caring demeanors, Ford and Woods also can be tough, not afraid to tell their fellow officers when they re wrong, and occasionally deliver a tongue lashing.
For years, Ford and Woods have known each other and worked side by side. And, rising through the ranks, Woods and Ford understand the demands of the job.
