faith and donald trump put on end to that. we are thrilled. it s just a first step. we still support full statutory repeal of the johnson amendment. paul: i want to talk about the johnson amendment enforcement. the argument that you hear from a lot of folks, you know what the irs doesn t enforce this very much at all right now so this amendment doesn t do very much more than just say to the irs, enforce it even less. what s your response to that? my response to that is the so-called experts that are pointing out that there s only been one case where a church lost tax-exempt status under provision and that is correct, obviously haven t been running a major church ministry or christian or other faith-based college or university in the last 30 years. paul: so they have to pay a lot of money to defend themselves against investigations, is that the problem? paul, millions, i mean, this has been a full employment act
today. you all wrote this pretty florid editorial today, excoriating trump are not taking this seriously. this was an attack on our democracy, on a free and fair election. how do you know exactly that russia was behind this? the president obama has announced it, the intelligence community s side that was their assessment. but they haven t offered any actual proof of it and most of the accounts of we have received about how they know this has been anonymous anonymously sou. as a journalist, are you comfortable taking at face value the assurances of anonymous government officials about something this important? it s not just the president and the intelligence community. senator mccain, senator my conical, they have come out, they have heard the briefings, i obviously haven t heard the briefings. i don t think the president would be taking actions or issuing sanctions against russia or kicking russians out of the country if he wasn t sure about

citizenship and immigration and population that really wasn t intended by the grant of a temporary visa. so the courts obviously haven t addressed that. they certainly didn t address it back in the late 1800s when the 14th amendment was created. so i think there is some room for some clarity from congress on this. john, tell me why it was created. well, obviously the goal here was not to benefit illegal immigrants, the goal was to make sure that after slavery was ended, those who were now citizens were actually benefited as full u.s. citizens. the problem was still, even after the 13th amendment, you had a lot of problems with states passing black codes and such that kept citizens from being full u.s. citizens. so that s why we actually saw the civil rights act in 1866, which was the precursor to the 14th amendment in 1868. you can see the language is actually pretty similar. john, thank you from the center of immigration studies. i appreciate your perspective
his constituents, but it s a smart one. jerry nadler is saying, ultimately this is the long term interest of israel and the united states, it enhances the security of both parties. i think a strong thing, it gives people space that either haven t come out thus far or sitting on the fence and watching the political currents go one way or another, trying to basically keep them focused on what the fundamental building blocks of the deal are and what happens the day there isn t a deal. what happens to u.s. power, u.s. credibility, america s relations with much of the rest of the world. when iran will still receive, you know, a fall in sanctions and the money that will go through to its country as the united states isolates itself if it were to reject that deal. so it gives the political members, the members in congress space to make that decision in favor of the president s position. steve, i want to talk a little about what s going on in the koreas.
