and the underlying documents, so that committees can proceed with their independent work, including oversight and legislating, to address any issues the mueller report may raise. so ana, we expect in this call that is happening right now, that the members who chair the key committee, jerry nadler, the chairman of the house judiciary committee and adam schiff, the head of the house intelligence committee will brief members and so far it is very little. they have only been told they could get briefed as soon as this weekend about the principal conclusions and what what to expect going forward, but a lot of questions. we ll see how the members answer the private calls that is happening right now. as the report is done, there are still multiple investigations into the president and his inner circle going on in the house. and today we learned the president s son-in-law and senior adviser jared kushner has agreed to hand over documents in the obstruction probe. give us an update on that.
pursuing business in russia and telling the media that is not a crime. but of course this could reveal the extent to which he lied or misled people about that. also another thing the president s allies have been talking about is there s a chance maybe someone said something that they testified in front of congress but said something else in front of robert mueller during an interview with him. because robert mueller has interviewed many people surrounding the president including those who worked in the west wing. they were saying what if there s a chance someone did not say the same thing to robert mueller that they said to congress. my reporting, too, is that robert mueller and his team has been keenly interested in the witness interviews of the president s lying to the public as part of the obstruction probe. whether the president was intentionally misleading public so i wouldn t be surprised if this report lays out and ties these threads together.
with the president s lawyer because every indication ba was they still had open questions for trump himself, likely related to the obstruction probe. now a month later after the questions first came back, and apparently were answered in a way that was not entirely satisfactory to mueller, months later mueller still hasn t forced the issue. he hasn t moved to subpoena trump, at least to our knowledge. it s evident no subpoena has been served to the president. so the question is why? why isn t mueller pushing a little bit harder to extract more information from the president himself? of course, one possible answer to that could be he feels he has sort of a broad, complete understanding of the facts related to any questions regarding obstruction of justice. but as far as i m concerned, that s kind of one of the biggest questions mueller could potentially answer in the coming weeks. joyce vance, one possible explanation that was offered to me many months ago was in terms of the obstructi
