Yet again, renowned Bhojpuri singer and actor Khesari Lal Yadav finds himself at the centre of a controversy. He has been booked under Section 292, 294, and 354 of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly producing songs with obscene content and vulgarity towards women . A criminal case has been registered against the 35-year-old singer by the head of Sanatan Seva Foundation, Shri Surjeet Singh, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In his complaint, Singh has accused Yadav of making vulgar content and obscene videos with the sole intention of minting money. While filing the complaint, Singh mentioned that Khesari Lal Yadav s recently released song Chachi Ke Bachi Sawanpanva Mein Aati Hein shows clear disrespect towards women in society. Singh also reportedly provided necessary evidence in the form of screenshots. He has demanded strict actions against Yadav. Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday underlined the need to censor obscene content on OTT (Over the Top) platforms and said the Centre is seriously thinking in this regard. Chouhan s comments came against the backdrop of a controversy over web series Tandav and registration of multiple FIRs in many states, including Madhya Pradesh, against its makers for hurting religious sentiments. Obscene content is being served on OTT platforms. Young children are also getting affected due to Internet and mobile phones. After seeing such content on mobile phones, a 12-year-old boy recently misbehaved with a six-year-old girl, Chouhan said.
