Fourteen aides of former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, were yesterday, arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Owerri for allegedly conspiring to commit misdemeanor and an attempt to overthrow the state government. x
The offence, according to the court, is punishable under Section 517 of the Criminal Code caption C38, Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004 as applicable in Imo State.
Okorocha, expected in the court, was not arraigned.
Those arraigned before the court were Obasi Goodluck, Nwaiwu Ndubuisi, Median Ijeoma, Obor Victor, Ucheka Claudin, Sunday Chisom, Nev Raphael, Epkpendu Peace, Basil Mba, Steve Asimobi, Ebere Nwokeji, Eberendu Chimechifulam, Olu Chzoba and Ibekwe Darlington.

THE Peoples Democratic Party on Monday accused the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and a former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, of turning the state into a war zone.
The PDP spokesperson in the state, Ogubundu Nwadike, in a statement on Monday said the clash between the supporters of Okorocha and Uzodimma on Sunday at Royal Spring Estate, Owerri, was “disgusting”.
Nwadike spoke on the heels of the disagreement between Uzodimma’s administration and Okorocha who is currently the lawmaker representing Imo West in the Senate.

The South-East Governors Forum has waded into the impasse between the Imo government and the state’s former governor, Sen. Rochas Okorocha.
It would be recalled that a squabble ensued between both sides’ supporters on Feb. 21 when Okorocha allegedly broke into the Royal Spring Palm Apartment, Owerri, sealed by the Imo government on Feb. 19.
The situation was brought under control by the Imo Police Command, which later arrested the senator.
Chairman of the forum, Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Francis Nwaze on Monday said that the forum was already handling the issue.
