(CNSNews.com) – President Joe Biden’s refunding of organizations that carry out or advocate for abortion around the world has prompted appeals by pro-life African women – stop imposing abortion on our pro-family, pro-faith culture by financing the activities of giant abortion providers.
In a recent online video produced by Culture of Life Africa, African women from different countries and walks of life urged Biden not to “sponsor” abortion in Africa.
During her first press conference, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about President Joe Biden’s stance on certain abortion policies.
“I will just take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic and somebody who attends church regularly,” Psaki responded. “He started his day attending church with his family this morning but I don’t have anything more for you on that.”

The head of the West African Bishops’ Conference has denounced President Biden’s decision “to promote the destruction of human lives domestically and in developing nations” through taxpayer-funded abortion.
In a hard-hitting February 3 interview with Crux, a U.S.-based online Catholic news outlet, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Abuja said that Biden’s restoration of U.S. taxpayer funding for abortions overseas “does not stand to reason” but rather “violates human dignity.”
“As I understand it, President Biden’s memorandum reverses restrictions on abortion access domestically and abroad imposed and expanded by the Trump administration,” the archbishop said. “It is intriguing that one of Biden’s first official acts is to promote the destruction of human lives domestically and in developing nations.”
On January 28, President Biden will revoke the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy allowing billions of dollars in American foreign aid to flood the developing world for funding abortions. In place since January 2017, the Protecting Life Policy (an expansion of the former Mexico City Policy) prevents foreign organizations that perform or promote abortion as a method of family planning from receiving global health funds from the U.S. government.
With the U.S. awarding approximately $10 billion for global health annually, the Policy’s impact on recipient countries is immense. The last evaluation indicated that the top two global abortion providers alone, International Planned Parenthood Federation and Marie Stopes International, lost out on $145 million under the previous policy. Funds were directed instead to a broad array of pressing health needs including HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and infectious diseases a true benefit for the countries most ravaged by
