The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has said the country lost 619.7 million barrels of crude oil valued at N16.25 trillion ($46.16 billion) between 2009 and 2020. This is contained in a statement signed by Obiageli Onuorah, the organisation’s head of communications and advocacy, in Abuja on Wednesday. The agency also praised the federal government's decision to establish a special investigative panel on oil theft and losses in Nigeria.
