it s based on petulance. donald trump no more knows about the insurance company than the man on the moon. this is silly. this is typical trump. he gets upset about something, he reacts. this is not going to fix the problems that obamacare have. the good news is this isn t going to undermine the core of obamacare. the core of obamacare was one, getting rid of pre-existing conditions, which will suffer for those people who get private insurance because of this, what he did the other day if it holds up in court, which i think it won t. but the core of obamacare is the medicare expansion. and that is going to continue for those states who have the government and the legislator with the brains to figure out how to balance their budget. for states like john kasich. that s the core of the expansion. but a lot of americans, modest income americans who presumably voted for trump are going to
white house has not been telling the truth here. well, certainly when you get a statement that they now say is basically accurate but has left things out, they invite more questions as time goes on, but i don t agree with robbie that the republicans, the republicans nominally control congress but if you look at how the health care bill went, you can see the problem, the dysfunction isn t limited to any one part of washington. it s on capitol hill too. and the senate republican leadership and a lot of the republicans who had promised for years to repeal obamacare have demonstrated why they can t get things done and it s because they re breaking their promises. what robbie said would be true and accurate if the republican leadership in the senate in particular were actually doing what they said. but they say something entirely different on the campaign trail and back in their districts than they do here in washington when
it would have a lot of trouble if they were to do nothing. if congress were to go into next year with the open enrollment in november, you would see a lot of counties facing no insurer for next year. you would see counties with higher rate hikes. people who don t receive subsidies for health insurance would be paying more. now there are things that the department of health and human services can do to make things a little bit cheaper for customers. they can, for example, say you can have a short-term health insurance plan. and that might not offer all the protections as obamacare, but it certainly would be less expensive. they could work with states to craft different plans and to add more funding. so there are ways that they could actually work with states and with obamacare customers without involving congress. one wonders if the trump administration and tom price could stands up and say because of your inability to fix this, this is what we you could own success and improvemen
