Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council of Chiefs and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, on Friday, pleaded with the warring communities of Offa and Erin-Ile, to sheathe their swords and allow peace and harmony to reign.
A statement by his spokesman, Abdulazeez Arowona, in Ilorin, quoted the Emir as saying “I received the news of the renewed feud between Offa and Erin-Ile with disappointment and sadness.
“It is high time the people of both communities embraced each other as brothers and sisters and continue to live in peace and harmony.”
Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari, appealed to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Esuwoye II and the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba Abdulganiyu Ibrahim Ajibola II, to prevail on their subjects to sheathe their swords and embrace peace.
