Court Jails Nigerian Monarch 10 Years For Destroying Church Property, Food Crops In Ondo State

An Ondo State Magistrate’s Court has jailed the traditional ruler of Ode community in the Akure North Local Government Area of the state, Oba Adewale Boboye, for unlawfully demolishing some property, palm trees and food crops. The destroyed property belonged to The Apostolic Church along Ado Ekiti Road, Igoba, Akure. He was arraigned on six counts bordering on felony, to wit malicious damage.

Ondo traditional ruler petitions IGP over murder, arson, destruction of property On Dayo Johnson Akure A traditional ruler in Ondo state, the Ajagunode of Ode community, Oba Adewale Boboye, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, over an alleged murder, arson and wanton destruction of his property by some assailants who invaded his palace. Oba Boboye alleged that some individuals within his community carried out the killing of three people in his palace and equally set the palace on fire on 10th December,  2020. In a petition written on his behalf by his lawyer,  Morakinyo Ogele, he alleged that some 17 individuals of being behind the destruction and killings.

In a petition written on his behalf by his lawyer,  Morakinyo Ogele, he alleged that some 17 individuals of being behind the destruction and killings. The petition read: We have the instructions of our aforementioned client to bring to your attention for necessary action the unlawful criminal invasion on his palace on 10th December,  2020 at about 1am by a group of assailants.

Punch Newspapers Sections Peter Dada, Akure The traditional ruler of Ode community in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Adewale Boboye, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, over the alleged murder of three of his subjects and wanton destruction of property by assailants, who invaded his palace in December. They allegedly attacked the palace of the monarch, killed three persons and set the palace ablaze last month. It was gathered that a land dispute between the Ode community and the neighbouring Isinigbo might be responsible for the attack. The monarch alleged that some individuals from the Isinigbo community masterminded the havoc wreaked on his community, adding that his antagonists supervised the burning of his palace on December 10, 2020.
